It was a very successful litterpick. Nineteen of you showed up. A big thank you to all and a big welcome to our friends from the north (woodlands): Nancy, Daniella, Toby, Dara, Paul, and Ben, with whom we hope to do lots of litterpicking with and also many other joint ventures.
Can you believe three perfectly good fishing rods were thrown away? One is still in the pond, so we need to fish that one out!
It was great that 7 of the litterpickers were youngsters. Chloe, as always, and Riley and Freya came along too, so it was good to see you.
Watch this space for the pick event. We are still waiting for a date from Blaenau Gwent, and we hope to do a charcoal burn and a few other things at the same time.
Groundwork’s active inclusion team has just returned from another fortnight in the woods, strimming the orchard and meadow and working on aneurin Bevan stones; their time and effort are greatly appreciated, and as usual, I baked them a cake!
We have lots of other things going on as well. Please message or email Susy if you have availability and are interested in volunteering with us at info@sirhowyhillwoodlands.co.uk.
