Sunday Litter-pick (10 a.m – 12 p.m)

Why have we arranged these events?

Our Sunday litter-picking event has been developed in response to littering increasing over the last few years. More people have been enjoying the outdoors and using our green spaces due to Covid-19 restrictions and many want to do something about the anti-social behaviour they have seen with the growth in visitor numbers.

During the community events we’ll be removing litter and fly tipping such as garden waste in Sirhowy Hill Woodlands. Tidying up these spaces helps to make them safe and attractive for people and our wildlife.

We know that local community groups are already doing great work in the area and want to build on this with our project.

How can you get involved?

Community litter picks are a great way to get involved with other members of your community and make a difference to your local outdoor spaces.

All you need is suitable clothing and footwear for the day and a willingness to get involved. We’ll provide all the litter picking equipment and gloves.

Volunteers old and new are welcome to come along.
