Great turnout; Christine, Ceri, Alyson, Helen, Chloe, Susy, and Lucy for the girls; Ken, Justin, Damien, and Thomas for the boys; apologies from Magda (studying) and John (Tenerife!).
We thought the woodlands looked pretty good. The amount of litter we found was amazing, despite it being too cold for the party crowd, the drug takers etc, so the sandpit area was reasonably clear.
Later in the week, Ken went back with a trailer to get some heavy junk out of the woodlands.
The recently planted beech trees had received some unwanted attention, so we restaked and sleeved the ones affected.
Watch this space for new tree planting events. We have 900 or so still to plant.
A special thank you to Ben Briggs and the lady from Peacehaven who regularly litter pick in the area.
We have lots of other things going on as well. Please message or email Susy if you have availability and are interested in volunteering with us at info@sirhowyhillwoodlands.co.uk.
